HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — A set of three premium-quality posters promoting Hot Springs as the perfect place to view the April 8, 2024, total solar eclipse is being developed by Visit Hot Springs for use by retailers.
“The three posters, using a design by Arkansas artist Chad Maupin, showcase Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas, as the best place in America for visitors to enjoy viewing this once-in-a-lifetime event,” said Visit Hot Springs Marketing Director Bill Solleder. “We’ll make the sets available at our cost to retailers for resale to eclipse visitors.
“Each poster in the three-poster set is an 18-by-24-inch color print on satin paper stock that makes them suitable for framing. They are being printed by a local Hot Springs printer and rolled and packaged in a plastic wrapper.
“They’re really beautiful, showing a view of downtown Hot Springs that includes Bathhouse Row. We think they’ll be especially attractive to the big crowds of visitors that we expect to come to Hot Springs a year from now to enjoy the combination of seeing the eclipse while enjoying all the attractions that our city and the national park have to offer. Hot Springs National Park is one of only two national parks in America that will be in the path of totality for the event, and the posters emphasize that fact.
“That’s pretty cool. What better place to view this phenomenon than a city that has a national park, mountains, thousands of lodging, camping, RV and short-term rental opportunities, 200 dining establishments, dozens of attractions, three lakes and a citizenry that knows how to treat visitors like celebrities?
“Visit Hot Springs will make the three-poster sets available for retail shops to sell. Retailers can purchase posters at the Visit Hot Springs offices in the Hot Springs Convention Center.”
Visit Hot Springs has been planning for the April 8, 2024, eclipse since 2020, when the event’s path across America was made public. Visit Hot Springs received a Henry Award from the state Parks, Heritage and Tourism Department for Solleder’s early recognition of the opportunities presented by the eclipse and VHS’ plans to accommodate the anticipated influx of visitors.
Solleder said Visit Hot Springs has created a “micro-website” that has a countdown clock and links that can be used to connect with Visit Hot Springs to locate lodging and other information to begin planning for a trip to the city for the eclipse.
