Paul Lynch and Wayne Smith Elected Chair, Vice-chair Of Hot Springs Advertising and Promotion Commission

HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — Paul Lynch, owner and operator of two tourism-related businesses, was elected December 7 as chairman of the Hot Springs Advertising and Promotion Commission for the coming year.

He succeeds Elizabeth Farris. Wayne Smith, general manager of Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort, was elected vice-chairman.

Lynch owns and operates State and Pride Provisions Company, a downtown outdoor apparel, gift and souvenir shop that caters to tourists, and Destination Point, LLC, a vacation home rental business that serves visitors to Lake Hamilton. He is also a partner in the law firm of Crow, Durbin and Speights where he focuses on business law and transactions.

He has been president of the Downtown Association of Hot Springs, an organization of downtown businesses that works to promote the city, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Friends of Hot Springs National Park. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Oaklawn Foundation.

“Continuing to attract visitors is critical to the economic vitality of Hot Springs,” Lynch said. “We've seen this past year how dramatically a drop in visitors can effect the well-being of our community."

“The Advertising and Promotion Commission will work harder than ever in the coming months to help in every way possible our city’s economy to bounce back from the global pandemic and return to the healthy growth that we were seeing before the virus hit.”

Smith has served as president of Fifty for the Future and a Board member of the Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce.

He said, “It's an honor to be selected vice chairman of the A and P Commission. As we close an unprecedented year, I hope in 2021 the Commission can get back to fully promoting tourism in Hot Springs. I would like to thank Steve Arrison and his remarkable Visit Hot Springs team for navigating through this pandemic.”
