HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK, Arkansas — A free replica of the most valuable diamond ever found at the Crater of Diamonds State Park and a Hot Springs family vacation package are being offered by Visit Hot Springs to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the State Park.

“We think this free giveaway package is the perfect way to celebrate one of the premier attractions in the Hot Springs area,” said Visit Hot Springs Marketing Director Bill Solleder. “It’s free and easy to enter. All you have to do is like, share or tag a friend on a Visit Hot Springs Facebook or Instagram post. Then, click on the contest link on our website, www.hot-springs.cjrw.rocks, and fill out a very brief survey."

“Hot Springs is a true hidden gem. Like a remarkable diamond, Hot Springs sparkles with a unique natural beauty, from the thermal spring waters to the surrounding Ouachita Mountains and our three breathtaking lakes.”

Solleder said the free Hot Springs family vacation package will include a two-night stay at Hotel Hot Springs; four tickets to Mid-America Science Museum; four day-passes to Magic Springs Theme and Water Park; four tickets to Garvan Woodland Gardens, and four tickets to dig for diamonds at the Crater of Diamonds State Park at Murfreesboro.

He said the replica of the Esperanza Diamond is worth $500.

The Esperanza Diamond was uncovered at the Crater of Diamonds in 2015 by Bobbie Oskarson. The 8.52-carat diamond was the fifth-largest diamond found by a park visitor in the park’s history and is considered the most valuable diamond ever uncovered in the United States.

Oskarson named the gem Esperanza after her niece’s name. Esperanza is Spanish for hope.

Solleder said the winner will be chosen at random from among those who complete the two-step entry. Contest entry ends Saturday, April 23, and the winner will be announced Sunday, April 24.
