Hot Springs Music Festival Celebrates 24 Years of World Class Music

Since 1996, musicians from around the world gather together for the first two weeks in June to participate in the Hot Springs Music Festival.  First-of-its-kind in concept and execution, the Festival pairs world-class mentor musicians from major orchestras, chamber ensembles and conservatory faculties with especially talented pre-professional apprentices–all of whom receive full instructional scholarships.

The two groups play side by side, performing a wide variety of orchestral and chamber repertoire in a wide variety of venues throughout Hot Springs, Arkansas.  The rehearsals are open and free to the public and concerts are presented each night featuring music of all styles and time periods.

The orchestral highlights for Season 24, June 2 – 15, 2019, include the music of Berlioz, Rachmaninoff, Rimsky-Korsakov, Saint-Saëns, Britten, and Dvoƙák.  This year’s Festival will also present Finlandia, by Jean Sibelius, featuring the Hot Springs Music Festival Chorus, singing a new English text by Festival co-founder and former Chorus Director Laura Rosenberg and Lynn Payette, present Chorus Director and Executive Director of the Festival.
