Jamie Sanderlin Parks grew up on a farm in the Mississippi River delta of east Arkansas.  Growing up there, she was surrounded by open fields, big skies, bottomland woods, levees, and the Mississippi and White Rivers.  She has always been inspired by the beauty of nature, whether it be a fiery sunset, a field of stubble after a grain harvest, reflections on the sur-face of water, or the morning sun beaming through trees.  Jamie acquired a love of gardening from her grandmother, who had flowers, shrubs and trees blooming practically year round in her yard next door.  That love of gardening is evident in her floral paintings.  Jamie feels that if she has captured the spirit of nature on her canvases she has succeeded as an artist.
