Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort

There’s enough action at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort to keep you busy all weekend long! One of the top thoroughbred racetracks in the country, Oaklawn also has a hotel and spa, multiple restaurants and bars, and plenty of entertainment – so you won’t have to step foot outside the resort until it’s time to go home. The itinerary below is your ace in the hole for hitting the good times jackpot at Oaklawn!

Friday Evening

Check in! Oaklawn’s eight-story hotel features elegantly appointed rooms and suites. If you’re visiting during racing season, book a trackside room for a bird’s eye view of the action. Once you’ve settled in, unwind with a drink at The First Turn, an upscale lounge located in the casino. Arrive at the start of cocktail hour, and you can catch views of the final race from the outdoor heated balcony!

For dinner, Oaklawn offers a variety of options from upscale restaurants to casual eateries. Get a burger from Silks Bar & Grill, located in the casino, then try your luck on the casino floor. There are over 1,500 slot machines to choose from plus table games like Blackjack, Craps, and Ultimate Texas Hold‘em and a sportsbook area with live wagering. Before you start playing, sign up for the free Oaklawn Rewards Card and enjoy discounts in Oaklawn’s restaurants and hotels, free play, and other rewards based on play. End the night with drinks and live entertainment at Pop’s Lounge, located in the casino.

Saturday Morning

Rise and shine with breakfast at The Track Kitchen, located just outside the main facility near Oaklawn’s parking lot entrance on Golf Links Road. Famous for its enormous pancakes, its a favorite of race track regulars. (Breakfast options inside the resort include Big Al’s Diner & Deli, a 24-hour diner serving American classics, and Percs, where you can grab a quick coffee and pastry.)

Your vacation would not be complete without a little bit of pampering so plan for a massage at Oaklawn’s Astral Spa. This luxurious day spa offers a wide variety of treatments including single or couples’ massages, facials, manicures, pedicures and more.

Saturday Afternoon

If you’re visiting during race season, spend the rest of the day watching the horses run! The races kick off at 1 p.m. and there are plenty of places where you can grab a quick lunch beforehand. Try Oaklawn’s famous corned beef sandwiches from the Post Parade and wash it down with one of Oaklawn’s signature beverages such as the Oaklawn Tea, a “southern peach spin” on a traditional Long Island Ice Tea. Watch the races from the indoor or outdoor grandstand or from the sprawling grassy infield! If it’s outside of the race season, spend the afternoon at the hotel pool and enjoy food and drink service to your cabana or chair.

Saturday Night

It’s your last night so do it up right with a visit to one of Oaklawn’s upscale restaurants like The Bugler or The OAK room & bar. Overlooking the race track and infield, The Bugler offers everything from carefully prepared charcuterie boards to signature classics and mouthwatering steaks. Spend the rest of the night in the sprawling casino or plan your visit around one of Oaklawn’s headliner shows, held in the event center, and sing and dance the night away.

Sunday Morning

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Big Al’s Diner and one last walk through the casino. Drop a penny in a slot or place a final roulette bet. Before you head home, be sure to visit the Winning Colors Gift Shop for Oaklawn apparel and other souvenirs. (The shop opens at 11 a.m.)
