Mid-America Science Museum
is proud to host this exciting special Exhibition in the spring & summer of 2012

This exhibit encompasses 8,000 sq ft and features more than 500 authentic artifacts recovered by Odyssey from various shipwrecks in the Atlantic Ocean, the English Channel & Mediterranean Sea.  It takes visitors through the thrilling quest to discover the ocean's greatest shipwreck stories & treasures.  It fuses history, science & technology into an exciting educational experience through the use of interactive elements & real life treasure displays from some of the most extraordinary shipwrecks in the world!

• A fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the research & technology used to locate shipwrecks & a unique opportunity to be involved in hands-on activities relating to shipwreck exploration
• The opportunity to participate in the pioneering exploration of shipwrecks, while learning about the cutting-edge technology, archaeology & fascinating stories of ships lost at sea over the centuries

Our first play will be Alfred Hitchcock's adaptation, "The 39 Steps"! 
This play will run for five consecutive weeks starting May 26th, 27th, and 28th and every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The 33nd annual Little Miss Arkansas Pageant
will be held
May 26th
at the
Hot Springs Convention Center
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The Little Miss Arkansas Pageant is open to any Arkansas girl up to age 17.

There are five age groups with a winner and two alternates in each. Contestants will compete in sports-wear and pageant dress.
There is also a photogenic competition in each group.
And talent competition for ages 3-17.

Charlie Daniels, known for his fiddle playing, is a music icon that has been performing for over 50 years. His style is an exhilarating mixture of rock, country, bluegrass, blues, and gospel.

Charlie’s rebel anthems Long Haired Country Boy and The South's Gonna Do It propelled his 1975 collection Fire On the Mountain to Double Platinum status. He won a Grammy Award in 1979 for The Devil Went Down to Georgia and the following year, the song became a major crossover success on rock radio stations, after its inclusion on the soundtrack for the hit movie Urban Cowboy. The CDB appeared in the movie. The song is still receiving regular airplay on classic rock and country stations. Charlie and The CDB have also earned awards from the Gospel Music Association, the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music.

As a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry, Charlie regularly performs on the Opry sharing the stage with fellow Opry Members. He has been inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame, and has received a Star on Music City’s Walk of Fame.

Course distance: 2 mile run, 12-mile bike ride and a 2-mile run. A "Chip-Timed Event". Proceeds benefit the development of the Hot Springs Greenway Trail. Sponsored by the Hot Springs Friends of the Parks.

The Memorial Day Ceremony with special speaker Hugh Mills, one of the Most-Decorated State Veterans. 
The service will be held at the Veterans Memorial May 28th, at 2pm, preceded by a reception in Mills' honor from 11am to 1pm at the nearby Transportation Depot.
