Tips for a Successful Reunion1. Pick a central location with good transportation, and don't forget to consider budget requirements. With large family reunions there may be a wide difference in what is considered affordable. The more members who can attend the reunion, the more fun you'll have. Also, if many attendees drive to the reunion, look for a location that's less than an eight-hour drive from the largest number of members. 2. Ask your local Convention and Visitors Bureau for help. In Hot Springs, the Group Travel Department helps connect reunion planners with hotels, visitor attractions, group dining options and businesses who provide group transportation and other goods and services. 3. Use the Internet. Find an Internet literate family member to set up a reunion web site. Then, post the reunion itinerary, transportation options and group history. 4. Remember, a family reunion is about memories and fun. Consider giving each group a disposable camera when they check in. Ask your local photo shops if they offer bulk discounts, also ask about putting a photo or reunion logo on the front of the camera. After the reunion, post the best photos on the web site for members who weren't able to attend.
